Family 4 Eternity promotes diversity, and underserved residents with zero tolerance for discrimination no matter someone’s background. We strive to fight and eradicate hunger in Southampton County, VA.
Founder, Charles Bazdanes retired from United States Department of Defense in 2021, after serving over 10 years of civil service with the US Air Force and US NAVY. He served as a civilian at Hanscom AFB, MA, and Holloman AFB, NM with the United States Air Force as a Contracting Officer. He then transitioned to the United Navy Naval Station Norfolk, Military Sealift Command where he served as a Supervisory Procurement Analyst and Senior Contracting Officer. He was given several distinguished awards during his service and was asked to Work on multiple urgent and compelling missions throughout his tenure.
Upon his medical retirement, Bazdanes saw an immense need and many facing food insecurity which led him to start a non-profit organization in 2024 called Family 4 Eternity. Bazdanes envisioned establishing a farm with fresh produce, and flower garden after seeing the immense need of neighbors around him facing food insecurity. Family 4 Eternity has seen the organization grow immensely and supports over 1,000 families across 8 different counties, primarily serving Southampton County, City of Franklin, and Sussex. Family 4 Eternity’s compassion and desire to make sure no one goes hungry have ensured over 400k pounds of food were distributed to over 40k people in the first year of operation. Family 4 Eternity also has given out over 500 Floral arrangements of Zinnia, Dahlia, Sunflowers, and a various assortment of Wildflowers to combat mental health within its tight-knit community at no cost.
Family 4 Eternity is tremendously grateful to the FOODBANK of SEVA (Teri Zurfluh and Corporate Staff for believing in Bazdanes), the residents of the proud Town of Capron and the surrounding communities for entrusting Family 4 Eternity to provide access to food when people have to choose between medications, mortgage, or going hungry. Family 4 Eternity thanks their partners, funders, clients, and dedicated team of volunteers for believing in the critical and urgent need of the mission to help those in need. Family 4 Eternity's last proudest accomplishment is the implementation of a Soup Kitchen currently serving in Franklin, and the staff obtaining Food Manager Certification and the entire team of volunteers trained with Food Handling Certifications. To date, they are the only Congregate Feeding Operation in all of Southampton County and have very exciting future plans ahead for their very own facility on that farm in the proud Town of Capron. All of the work that Family 4 Eternity does is at no cost to the public.
