Get to Know Us
Founder, Charles Bazdanes retired from United States Department of Defense in 2021, after serving over 10 years of civil service with the US Air Force and US NAVY. He served as a civilian at Hanscom AFB, MA, and Holloman AFB, NM with the United States Air Force as a Contracting Officer. He then transitioned to the Naval Station Norfolk, US NAVY/Military Sealift Command where he served as a Supervisory Procurement Analyst and Senior Contracting Officer. He was given several distinguished awards during his service and was asked to work on multiple urgent and compelling missions throughout his tenure, such as the Boston Marathon bombing (USAF), F-22 Raptor(USAF), Combating ISIS w/RPA’s MQ-1 and MQ-9(USAF), and other classified missions and projects with the USAF and US NAVY/Military Sealift Command.
Upon his medical retirement, Bazdanes saw an immense need in his community and many facing food insecurity, which led him to start a non-profit organization in 2024 called Family 4 Eternity. Bazdanes envisioned and has establishing a farm with fresh produce, and a flower garden after seeing the urgent and critical need of neighbors around him facing food insecurity. Family 4 Eternity has seen the organization grow immensely and supports over 1,300 families across 8 different counties, primarily serving Southampton County, City of Franklin, Sussex, and Greensville. Neighboring Counties include Surry, IOW, City of Suffolk, Gates County, Brunswick, and Prince George. Family 4 Eternity’s compassion and desire to make sure no one goes hungry have ensured over 450k pounds of food were distributed to over 50k people in the first year of operation. Family 4 Eternity also has given out over 500 Floral arrangements of Zinnia, Dahlia, Sunflowers, and a various assortment of Wildflowers to combat mental health within its tight-knit community at no cost.
